Whether you’re a model or wishing to become one, it’s important to remember that modeling is a career. It’s a fun job, but there’s also a serious side to it, and if you play the game right, you can reap the rewards and build a successful future for yourself in the long run.
Thanks to the internet, there are plenty of amazing sites out there that bring models together and help make light of it all, in what can be a lonely place.
So for those starting out or already established, I’ve rounded up some of my favourite websites and blogs that I hope help you understand the modeling industry better. Enjoy!
This is my personal favorite! As the title suggests, this site covers all business aspects of modeling – the different markets, managing your accounts, what to wear to castings, industry news and more. It’s especially great for those starting out.
This blog is written by the beautiful and articulate Addison Gill and Madison Schill, both successful models who advocate body-positivity. It covers beauty, health, body-image and the ins-and-outs of modeling. It also has some pretty delicious recipes.
This cute blog-space is run by four models specializing in different areas – Tabitha covers Health, Abi covers beauty, Charlie covers literature and Jade travel – proving they’re more than just pretty faces. If you feel like you’re a model with a voice, you can also apply to join their team.
Commercial model Rebecca Pearson interviews working models about balancing a career and motherhood, hosts Q&A’s with aspiring models and discusses general model-life. This is especially great for girls hoping to break into the commercial market.
