BROOKLYN BOTANICAL GARDENS Life, May 1, 2016

Ally Ertel

It’s the beginning of May and we’re now truly into spring! Yesterday I visited the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens with my beautiful model friend, Ally. She’s really into nature and suggested we visit it. It was lovely wandering around the gardens, soaking up the sun and getting to know each other better.

The gardens are currently celebrating their Japanese festival, with one of their key attractions being the cherry blossom trees that have just bloomed. The park has thousands of plants, herbs and flowers to look at anytime throughout the year, though.

One of my favorite parts of the park was their Bluebell Wood…

It cost $25 to get into the park, which I thought was a bit steep, but the pretty flowers make up for it somehow. It’s best to bring your own food as the food is also quite expensive once you’re inside.

Needless to say, it was a lovely and peaceful afternoon out, and a nice distraction from the city.
