Back at it again with the brunch menu! This time, I’ve been exploring some delicious eateries across New York.
I seem to have a bit of an obsession with brunch – it always feels like a treat to me. Here are some of my favorite places I’ve found on my travels, which I hope you’ll get to try, too!
I absolutely loved this place in Williamsburg, which specialises in French cuisine. The staff are friendly and attentive and the surroundings are so aesthetically-pleasing, with overflowing flower pots, kitsch objects and vintage signs surrounding the walls. I can’t remember the exact name of the dish I ordered, but it contained eggs, homemade sausages, green lentils and vegetables, and kept me full throughout the day. The restaurant is packed, but with good reason, so be sure to make a reservation or to get there early.
This is a cute, family-run cafe specializing in American-Mediterranean cuisine. So much thought has gone into their presentation – I love the super-cute illustrations on their menus and the colourful food is so Instagram-worthy. I had the Green Shakshuka ($12), which is eggs in a green, pea-tasting puree with unlimited toast to dip into. SO GOOD!!!
The menu is as simple as it’s name, with eggs featured in every dish. Unless you get there early, expect a long queue – it’s one of Brooklyn’s most popular eateries and works on a first come, first served basis. Whilst you’re waiting for your food, you can draw on the tablecloth using crayons, and on the weekend, you’re given a free plate of sugary, donut things to munch on as you wait. Their hash browns are delicious, but their omelette was a bit too creamy for my liking.
I’ve written about Bluestone Lane before, but this is still one of my favorite places to eat EVER. It’s Australian, healthy and so pretty to look at and a favorite amongst gym bunnies and models alike.
