When my two favorite things come together – make-up and chocolate – you know you’re in for a treat!
In case you’re unfamiliar with Make-Up Revolution, it’s a cheap and cheerful make-up brand aimed at the teenage market (or, if you’re in your twenties, the Charli market). Their pretty shades and unique pallettes frequently pop up across Instagram.
I own their Golden Sugar blush palette, whose shimmery colours remind me of the galaxy. As far as highlighters go, they’re actually some of the best I’ve ever used and incredibly underrated, lasting longer during the day than my Nars highlighters do and which cost triple the price. After seeing their chocolate palettes in store, I was eager to try them and see whether their eyeshadow would last as long (I’m very easily persuaded when I see cute things).
So, don’t get me wrong – first impressions of the chocolate palette aren’t great. The outside packaging is cheap and naff, looking like something you’d pick up at a car boot sale or Poundland (yes, I know I’m being harsh, but it’s true).
HOWEVER – slide the palette out of the horrible box, and you come face-to-face with a chocolate bar-shaped case. It’s cute, girly and actually pretty well-made.
Open the case up and you find a range of autumny, sultry eyeshadow shades. My favourite is the dusty pink colour which I’m going to try soon.
Best of all, the eyeshadows last for ages. They’re excellent quality for something that’s meant to be a bit of fun.
At £7.99, it’s affordable and would make a great gift for yourself or for friends. Isn’t it ironic (and slightly sickening) to think this palette costs the same amount of money some chocolate bars do in Wholefoods?
The palettes are available to buy online or in Superdrug stores across the UK.
