I’m a big fan of Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kits. Although they’re a bit pricey, they are beautiful, durable and come in the prettiest of shades. It’s no wonder that girls worldwide have become addicted to them.
Like a lot of people, I’ve become obsessed with trying to get hold of a lip kit. I don’t know what it is about her products that makes them so appealing, but I’ve fallen into that trap of checking when her website will restock and feeling disappointed when I don’t get one (it must be the idea of wanting what you can’t have!).
As for Kylie’s original Lip Kits, I have Candy K and I love it – it’s a beautiful, neutral colour that compliments my pale skin tone.
Anyway, luckily for me, I managed to get hold of a new Kylie gloss last week whilst sitting in Wholefoods. I chose ‘Like’, a nice cocoa brown that I hoped would warm my skin tone. I wish I bought more colours, but as I tried to order the other glosses, they sold out instantly.
I really like the box it arrives in but I do find it a bit wasteful. Your product arrives surrounded by foam (I’ve taken more foam out of there that you can’t see in the photo). I’m pretty sure a gloss of that size doesn’t really need that amount of packaging or protection, so I hope they work on changing that (Hashtag Save The Planet).
The gloss comes in a thin, matte box:
The gloss itself is very thick and what I love is that it takes a good amount of rubbing to take off. Unlike a lot of lip glosses, the shine lasts for a long time without having to reapply it. The brush to apply it with, however, is not great quality – the hairs are quite scraggly, so you’ve got to apply it really carefully or it will leave lines over your chin!
Overall, I really liked the gloss colour, durability and quality, but I feel Kylie Cosmetics should work on improving their packaging. Treating yourself to a Kylie gloss ($15) or a lip kit ($29) is a luxury for most teenagers, so should feel like it!
